ESL Conversation Group Leader Training

Training provided by Washtenaw Literacy Council.

Conversation groups are in high demand in Oakland County.  They are an opportunity for English language learners to gain practice and gives group leaders an opportunity to learn about new cultures.

This training is designed for those currently leading a conversation group of English as a Second Language learners or those who wish to lead a conversation group.  The training will help you support your current efforts and design new lessons.

Topics Include:

• Basic group dynamics (including a focus on culturally diverse groups);
• Strategies to encourage conversation;
• How to select and use lesson materials;
• An introduction to short hands-on activities.

Content will be appropriate for both new and experienced tutors.

Cost:

$20 registration fee
